Spring Semester 2022 Course Catalog Updates (updated 1/12/22)

Changes to Modality

  • A164 Program Evaluation with Tom Kane. Due to the cancellation of the online section of A164 because of personal circumstances for the instructor, A164 with Tom Kane will be available to a limited number of both in-person and online students. Details and an enrollment procedure will be posted to the course website in early January 2022.
  • H305M Student Mental Health for Educators with Josephine Kim will now be offered flexibly.
  • H311 Issues of Diversity in Cross-Cultural Counseling and Advocacy with Jo Kim will now be offered flexibly.
  • S049M Simulation Design in R with Luke Miratrix will now be offered flexibly.
  • S022 Introduction to Statistical Computing and Data Science in Education with Luke Miratrix will now be offered flexibly.
  • S059 Quantitative Text Analysis for Education Research with Sebastian Munoz-Najar Galvez will be offered online.
  • T022 How the Future of Work is Shaping the Future of Education with Peter Blair will be offered in 2 modalities (one offered online, and one offered in-person).
  • T243 Art of Inclusive Teaching through Agile Thinking is now being offered flexibly.
  • T410D Toward Healing-Centered Engagement in Classrooms, Schools, and Communities with Christina “V” Villarreal will be offered in 2 modalities (one offered online, and one offered in-person).
  • T543 Applying Cognitive Science to Learning and Teaching with Tina Grotzer will now be offered online.
  • A405 Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery: A Normative Case-Study Writing Initiative now will be offered online.

  • A130M Groups and Culture: Promoting Social Change for Children and Families (added 12/16/2021) with Bobbi Wegner will be offered flexibly in Spring 2.
  • A147 Education and Resistance in Community-based Youth Organizations (added 12/16/2021) with Bianca Baldridge will be offered online in Spring.
  • A204M Art of Social Change (added 12/16/2021) with Michael Gregory and Chrisanne Hazen is cross-listed with Harvard Law School and will be offered in-person in Spring.
  • A220M Working the System: Navigating the Education Ecosystem in the Pursuit of Educational Justice (added 12/16/2021) with Arun Ramanathan will be offered online in Spring 2.

  • T211D Education on the Move: Recentering the Body and Movement In Teaching & Learning  (added 1/14/2022) with Aysha Upchurch will be offered both online and in-person during Spring 1.

  • T014M Educating to Transform Society: Preparing Students to Disrupt and Dismantle Racism with Aaliyah El-Amin now has updated schedule information.
  • T402 Group Learning with Daniel Wilson has been cancelled due to personal reasons for the instructor.
  • T803A Teaching Climate Change: Developing Curriculum and Other Educational Innovations will not require T802A. Students can take T803A by permission of the instructor.
  • H137 Emotion in Development and Learning: Usable Knowledge, Variability, and Context has been cancelled due to personal reasons for the instructor.
  • H810C Teaching for Inquiry – What’s Literacy Got to Do With It? has been cancelled due to personal reasons for the instructor.
  • H119A Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Play, Learning, and Development has been cancelled due to personal reasons for the instructor.
