Paper Diploma Replacement

HGSE has partnered with Parchment to assist us with replacement paper diploma orders for alumni.  In order to obtain a replacement paper diploma, we request the original be returned, if possible. The paper diploma can only be ordered by the original recipient. In the case of any name changes, submission of legal documents (i.e. marriage, divorce, court name change certificates) verifying the current name is required. In addition, the original diploma bearing the original name must be enclosed. Since it is impossible to duplicate the original exactly, the diploma prepared will have a statement in the lower margin, signed by the Secretary of the Corporation, certifying that the new diploma is in substance a copy of the original.

The process of replacing diplomas is a lengthy one. Paper diploma orders can take 4-6 weeks to be fulfilled by our vendor, so please plan accordingly.

Students who need to access to their digital credentials should email the Office of the Registrar directly: registrar@gse.columbia.edu

The Office of the Registrar will reply with an invitation code to use when you receive the new invitation link from Paradigm, our electronic diploma vendor.
