Spring 2025 Registration

HGSE Courses
Courses offered during the Spring Term 2025 are viewable in my.Harvard. Please be aware that development of the course list is still in progress and that additions and changes will be made right up until the time of course enrollment. For that reason, it is a good idea to check the listing frequently.

 Course Previews
Students will have two opportunities to preview HGSE classes in advance of course enrollment:
  1. By viewing 8-10-minute pre-recorded videos created by the course instructors and posted to their (Canvas) course websites. These videos will be made available to students on Wednesday, January 15.
  2. By attending live, 25-minute question and answer sessions. Spring Q&A sessions will be scheduled on Tuesday, January 21. The preview schedule will be posted to my.Harvard on Wednesday, January 15. These live sessions will also be recorded and posted to course websites.

My.Harvard Check-In
Check-In in my.Harvard will begin on Wednesday, January 8 (at 12:01 a.m. ET). You will be able to complete the check-in process by following these steps. The deadline to check-in in my.Harvard is Friday, January 24. After January 24, students will be allowed to do late check-in through Monday, February 10, at which time check-in will close. All students are required to check-in for the spring semester. When you have completed the Check-in process, you will be able to move forward to enroll in classes.

Emergency Contact Information
As part of the check-in process, you will be asked to list the person whom HGSE should contact should we have any concerns about your wellbeing or personal safety after unsuccessful attempts to reach you directly and/or in the event of a health or safety emergency in which you are personally involved. You may list a parent, family member, spouse, or other trusted individual as your emergency contact.

Grading Basis
For courses that allow for student option, students are expected to indicate their grade option (letter grade or satisfactory/no credit) in My.Harvard by the Add/Drop Deadline. As you plan out your course of study for the year (or for two years if part-time), please keep in mind that, in general, Ed.M. students must take at least 16 credits for a letter grade.

Cross-Registration
Like HGSE course registration, cross-registration into any of the other Harvard schools and MIT is done through my.harvard. Please visit our Cross Registration page for additional information. Please note that on Wednesday, January 8, you may add courses to your Crimson Cart – This means that you can start adding courses at other Harvard Schools and MIT to your Crimson Cart. This will allow you to validate and submit petitions for instructor permission courses. Please note that you will not be able to enroll into these courses until the open-enrollment period on: Wednesday, January 22 at 3:00 pm ET. Holds do not impact your ability to add courses to your Crimson Cart and submit petitions!
