Grading responsibilities

It is the Head Instructor’s responsibility to post (submit) final grades. Even after assigning grading permission to proxy graders, Head Instructors still need to post final grades.

HGSE Grading System 

GradeDefinition
A, A-  
High honors; distinction (There is no grade of “A+”)
B+, B, B-
Quality expected of a graduate student
C+, C, C-
Not up to the standards of graduate work
D+, D, D-       
Barely passing
E
Failure; no credit given
SAT
Satisfactory indicates that the work submitted is equivalent to “B-“ or better quality.
NCR
­No credit­: indicates that the work submitted is equivalent to a “C+” or lower quality. No credit will be given.
INC
Incomplete may be given to a student who has not completed the course requirements, but has done enough to justify granting him/her additional time to complete work.
INP
Permanent Incomplete should be given to a student who has done so little work in the course that he/she will not be permitted to complete it. If the student wishes to receive a grade, the course must be retaken.
