Who is this for?
HGSE alumni who have received a degree, Employers or outside organizations looking to verify a Harvard HGSE degree.
About degree verifications
After you have graduated from HGSE, you may be asked to provide verification of your degree for employment opportunities or when you are applying to an academic program. We use the National Student Clearinghouse to distribute all official degree verifications. This service is available to all HGSE alumni 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How to request a degree verification
- Visit the National Student Clearinghouse website.
- From the drop-down menu, select Harvard Graduate School of Education.
- Pay the associated fee.

Replacement Diplomas
Replacement Diplomas for HGSE Degrees Only:
In the event that a diploma is lost, stolen or damaged, a request can place an order here on out Parchment Storefront. The cost for a replacement diploma is $150.00, and the process may take four to six weeks from the time it is ordered. The new diploma will bear a statement in the lower margin by the Secretary to the Corporation certifying that the diploma is, in substance, a copy of the original. The names of the officials in office at the time that the original diploma was printed will appear on the diploma without the signatures.

Loan Deferments
A loan deferment provides confirmation that you were officially registered in a degree program at Harvard Graduate School of Education. You may have deferred your loans while you were enrolled at HGSE on, at least, a half-time basis as well as other federal loans for your undergraduate or other graduate school programs.
The Office of the Registrar uploads enrollment details to the National Student Loan Clearinghouse once a month.
Email the HGSE Office of the Registrar if you have questions specific to a loan deferment you submitted while you were enrolled in a degree program at HGSE, or if your loan provider requires completing a seperate form.
